AUTUMN LEAVES - RESTYLING OF A DRESS

"Is this dress new?"

                 "You have so many dresses!"

                                           "Do you always buy new clothes for the blog?"

These are some questions and comments I receive, especially from my non-blogging friends. Do they sound familiar to you?

- This dress is not new, I bought it from Mango 2 or 3 years ago.

- Yes, I have...  hard to deny... I am addicted to dresses ;-)

- No, I mix old clothes with new additions and restyle them with trendy pieces and colours.

The basic piece of today's look is a draped soft jersey dress in autumn colours.

Since I am in love with burgundy this season I selected that colour from the floral prints of this dress and paired it with a short blazer (a cheap ebay find a couple of years ago), my new asos bag, timeless heels in taupe and added some jewellery in matching tones.

That's all and it is a comfortable yet appropriate outfit for the office.

Once it gets cooler (can't believe there is some early snow predicted for my area this weekend!!) I can easily replace the heels with knee high boots and throw on a burgundy pashmina shawl.

Luckily I won't need both right now as I will escape the cold and spend some time at the Algarve in Portugal next week.

Fragen und Kommentare, die ich hauptsächlich von meinen Nicht-Blogger Freundinnen und Bekannten bekomme. Geht Euch das auch so?

- Dieses Kleid ist etwa 2 oder 3 Jahre alt, ich hatte es bei Mango gekauft.

- Ähhhh ja... da kann ich jetzt schlecht widersprechen, bei Kleidern werde ich schwach ;-)

- Nein, ich mixe sehr oft Kleidung, die ich im Schrank habe, mit neuen, trendigen Teilen oder style sie mit aktuellen Farben.

Basis meines heutigen Looks ist ein fließendes, seitlich drapiertes Stretchkleid in zeitlosen Herbstfarben.

Da ich momentan Bordeaux liebe, habe ich diesen Ton aus dem Muster aufgegriffen und mit einem Kurzblazer kombiniert, den ich vor Jahren sehr günstig bei ebay ersteigert habe. Dazu meine neue Tasche von asos, klassische taupefarbene Pumps und farblich passender Schmuck.

Das ist alles und so fühle ich mich im Büro genau richtig gekleidet.

Wenn es kälter wird (Schneefallgrenze unter 1000 m gegen Ende dieser Woche - wir liegen auf 850 m!!!), trage ich dazu Lederstiefel und einen bordeauxfarbenen Pashmina Schal.

Aber beides werde ich glücklicherweise erstmal nicht brauchen, da ich nächste Woche der Kälte in Richtung Algarve entfliehen werde!

THE BLUE KNIT DRESS

Everything knitted or woolen is usually too warm for me - I prefer layering thinner pieces - but when this knit dress arrived, I didn't want to pull it off again! It is made of a very fine, soft fabric that just feels amazing. I also love its unique vale which is attached to the front and tied around the neck.

No, those tortoise heels aren't made for walking and certainly not on this bridge! You should have seen me tiptoeing on the wooden surface ;-) Of course again carefully watched by bikers and dog walkers in more suitable shoes... But they are great for an evening out and you will certainly see them again paired with a LBD.

After we took these photos I departed for Munich where I met up with my lovely blogger friend Stephanie of Die Modeflüsterin - just recently we did this style interview together. Meeting fabulous fellow bloggers like Stephanie is certainly the most rewarding part in our blogger world!

Dicke Strickpullis und alles warme, dicke trage ich so gut wie nie - bei Kälte ist mir ist ein Zwiebellook lieber - und auch Strickkleidern stehe ich sehr skeptisch gegenüber. Aber dieses aus ganz feinem, weichen Material hat mich sofort überzeugt. Schon als ich es anprobiert habe, wollte ich es nicht mehr ausziehen! Das besondere ist der feine Schleier, der vorne angenäht ist und im Nacken geknotet wird.

Dazu mußten es unbedingt diese für mich megahohen Pumps in Schildpattoptik sein, die vielleicht nicht unbedingt die idealen Schuhe für die unebenen Holzbretter dieser Brücke sind... ganz sicher nicht in den Augen der vorbeigehenden Spaziergänger und Radler ;-)

Aber sie passen mir perfekt und ich werde sie auf jeden Fall nochmal zusammen mit einem schwarzen Kleid im Abendlook vorstellen.

Nach diesen Fotos bin ich in Richtung München gefahren und habe mich mit Bloggerin Stephanie, der Modeflüsterin getroffen, wir haben ja kürzlich zusammen dieses Style Interview gemacht. Bloggerkolleginnen zu treffen und näher kennenzulernen ist doch das schönste am Bloggen, vor allem, wenn es so tolle Frauen sind wie Stephanie!

JEANS DRESSED UP

Another look without a dress! Although I love them all year round, it is not always easy to style a dress for the in-between-season. Soon it will be to cold for bare legs but yet too early for boots... a style dilemma ;-)

Recently I have shown you my new leather trousers, where I stepped out of my comfort zone a little bit and got lots of positve and very flattering feedback - thank you so much!

I like jeans but I am not a casual girl and love to combine them with more elegant pieces like a classic blazer and heels. This is an outfit where I dressed up my preferred dark washed jeans with a draped chiffon blouse with a layered sequin top in a soft apricot tone.

Noch ein Look ohne Kleid! Diese Jahrezeit, in der es bald zu kühl für nackte Beine wird, andererseits aber noch zu früh für Stiefel ist, bringt mich morgens vor dem Kleiderschrank oft in ein Dilemma ;-)

Kürzlich habe ich meine neue Lederhose vorgestellt und mich damit ein Stück weit aus meiner Komfortzone bewegt. Nachdem ich dafür so tolles Feedback bekommen habe, zeige ich Euch heute eine Variante, wie ich Jeans am liebsten trage.

Meist ist es eine Kombination aus einer Jeans - am liebsten dunkle Waschungen - und eleganten Teilen. Entweder mit Blazer und Pumps oder wie hier mit meiner Chiffonbluse mit eingearbeitetem Pailettentop in zartem Apricot.

MONOCHROMATIC LOOK IN BURGUNDY

Leaves are turning golden and I wake up to only 5C in the morning.... autumn has arrived here in Bavaria but we had a fantastic period of Indian Summer with a lot of sunshine this week, just in time for the Oktoberfest!

Shades of Burgundy, Purple and Oxblood are amongst my favourite colours this season and today I am going for a monochromatic look.

I am more than happy about my new bag from asos and since I often carry a lot of stuff with me, I like the bigger size which is perfect for the office. And don't you love it when an item turns out even nicer than shown on the online shop?

 

Der Herbst ist da - oder doch noch nicht? Diese Woche hatten wir, passend zur Wiesn, herrlichen  Altweibersommer. Weiß-blauer bayerischer Himmel mit herrlichem Sonnenschein!

Weinrot, Bordeaux, Pflaume - einige meiner Lieblingsfarben für diese Saison. Und weil ich die Farbe so gern mag, bin ich heute gleich ganz dabei geblieben: Rock, Bluse, Tasche.

Ich schleppe immer viel mit mir rum und größere Taschen sind für mich ideal, vor allem auch für's Büro. Daher liebe ich meine neue Tasche von asos und war äußerst angenehm überrascht, denn sie ist noch viel schöner als im Online shop abgebildet!

LEATHER DRESSED UP

It can't always be a dress... this time I was in the mood for something different. I combined my new olive faux leather trousers with a light blouse, clutch and peep toes in nude tones. 

Leather trousers can be worn in different ways from rock style to casual - I was going for another option: dressed up but not too formal. The soft inner lining of these trousers is soft and quite warm, so expect to see them again but then styled for the colder season. Think of booties, sweater, blazer and a scarf!

You might assume taking photos on the countryside, outside of town in the middle of fields and a farmer's road would be easy and peaceful.... well, not quite ;-) A flock of sheep including their extensive lunch stop on the field right next to us, several tractors, a lovely old man on a bicycle ready for a chat with two ladies, two young girls on their inline skates and a group of hikers (quite obviously wondering why I was wearing high heels!!) added some extra breaks to our photo shooting! 
... glad it was too early for taking the cows home that day ;-)

So sehr ich Kleider liebe, manchmal muss es etwas anderes sein! Meine neue Kunstlederhose in einem herbstlichen Oliveton zum Beispiel. Dazu eine lange Chiffonbluse, Clutch und Peeptoes in Nudetönen.

Es gibt verschiedene Arten, Leder zu tragen - rockig, lässig oder eben ein bisschen feiner, wie ich es heute tue. Die innere Beschichtung der Hose ist weich und warm, damit ist sie bestens für kühlere Temperaturen geeignet und Ihr werdet sie auf jeden Fall nochmal anders gestylt sehen. Ich denke dabei an Booties, Pulli, Blazer und Schal.

Eine Geschichte am Rande... man möchte ja meinen, Fotos in ungestörter, ländlicher Idylle zu machen, sei kein Problem. Naja, weit gefehlt! Eine Schafherde, die natürlich erstmal nicht weiterzubewegen war und auf der angrenzenden Wiese Pause machte, ein Traktor nach dem anderen, ein freundlicher, älterer Herr mit seinem Fahrrad, der sehr viel Zeit zum Ratschen hatte, Jugendliche auf Inline Skates und eine Wandergruppe (die sich ganz offensichtlich fragte, was ich da in Lackpumps mache!!)  zwangen uns immer wieder zu unvorhergesehenen Pausen.
... ein Glück, dass es nicht auch grad noch Zeit für die Kühe war, in den Stall zurückzukehren ;-)

FLORAL PRINTS IN BLACK & WHITE

We have lovely late summer weather in Bavaria this week - right in time for the Oktoberfest - but we already feel autumn with low temperatures in single celsius digits in the morning and at night. They can't stop me from wearing dresses without tights yet. It's in our family genes and also my mum and my daughter go by our personal rule: No tights as long as possible!

I am changing to dresses with longer sleeves though and this dress is recurring in my seasonal wardrobe cycle... originally from a special H&M collection I bought it on ebay several years ago and love its timeless prints and mock wrap style which I can pair with black boots and a cardigan in winter.

When I go for fitted dresses I wear shapewear underneath which serves two purposes: First, of course it creates a nicer silhouette and I feel more confident and secondly, an extra layer keeps me warmer at this time of the year. Watch out for my post "Do you wear shapewear?" in October!

Auch bei herrlichem Altweibersommer - typisch für die Wiesn-Zeit - ist der nahende Herbst hier im Voralpenland schon sehr zu spüren, obwohl die Bäume noch erstaunlich Grün sind. Morgens und abends ist es mit Temperaturen im einstelligen Bereich doch ziemlih frisch. Aber noch ist für mich die Zeit nicht gekommen, Strumpfhosen zu tragen. Das liegt bei uns in der Familie: Auch meine Mutter und meine Tochter zeigen nackte Beine, solang es geht!

Kleider bleiben fester Bestandteil meiner Herbstgarderobe, allerding nun lieber mit längeren Ärmeln. Dieses Kleid, das ursprünlich aus einer H&M Sonderkollektion stammt, habe ich vor mehreren Jahren für ein paar Euro bei ebay ersteigert und liebe den zeitlosen Stil in Wickeloptik. Und im Winter trage ich es mit Stiefeln und Cardigan.

Unter figurbetonten Kleidern wie diesem trage ich immer Shapewear. Einerseits natürlich um eine schönere Silhouette zu erzielen und andererseits hält sie um diese Jahreszeit auch ein bisschen wärmer. Zum Thema Shapewear wird es im Oktober hier einen speziellen post geben!
