DRESSCODE: ELEGANT SUMMER PARTY

SUMMER PARTY

Although the dresscode on the invitation of a big company for their annual summer party said "elegant - casual - sporty", I knew that the majority of guests would be dressed in an elegant party style. Why I knew that? Because I lived in Munich for a long time and that is the character and unspoken dresscode of the city!

I chose a long black stretch dress which is almost 20 years old and paired it with a very thin shrug and my new statement necklace in pastel colours. A very easy styling. I was really glad I wore my block heeled sandals as the party took place outside on cobblestone pavement which ruins all stiletto heels...

EINLADUNG ZUM SOMMERFEST

Auf der Einladung zum Sommerfest einer großen Firma stand zwar "elegant - leger - sportlich", also wäre mehr oder weniger alles erlaubt gewesen, aber mir war klar, dass man hier in einem eleganten Partylook erscheint, schließlich habe ich lang genug in München gelebt um den unausgesprochenen Dresscode dieser Stadt zu kennen ;-)

Ich habe ein langes, schmales, fließendes Kleid gewählt, das ich seit fast 20 Jahren habe, es ist in der Tat zeitlos. Dazu ein hauchdünnes Bolerojäckchen und meine neue Kette in Pastellfarben. Ich war froh, dass meine Sandalen einen Blockabsatz hatten, denn das Fest fand auf Kopfsteinpflaster statt - der Tod eines jeden Stilettoabsatzes, vor allem im Dunkeln!

Eisgekühlten "HUGO" gab es den ganzen Abend, ist er auch außerhalb Münchens so beliebt? Das Rezept und meine Variante findet Ihr weiter unten.

WEEKEND IN A BLUE FLORAL MAXI SKIRT

Blue Maxi Skirt

Flowers and floral prints all over - it's summer!

I recently got this light blue printed maxi skirt on sale and immediately fell in love with it. The upper part is a stretch waist and it can also be worn as a strapless dress, which I would probably do when I am on vacation at the beach. Paired with a knotted blouse (love that style!), I felt ready for the weekend.

My daughter who usually takes my photos, graduated from highschool and spent a couple of days celebrating and relaxing at the Italian seaside with her friends. Therefore my father was kind enough to step in and took these photos in my parents' lovely garden.

P.S. I wore nail lacquer in golden beige and only the sunlight turned it into lime green ;-)

Maxi Rock in Blau

Blumen überall - auf meinem Maxirock und im Garten - endlich Sommer!

Ich habe mir diesen luftigen blau gemusterten Rock kürzlich im Sale gekauft und liebe ihn, da er sich herrlich trägt. Ein ganz leichtes Material, aber nicht durchsichtig. Oben ist er breit gesmoked und kann auch als schulterfreies Sommerkleid im Urlaub getragen werden. Dazu eine geknotete Bluse, fertig war mein Wochenendlook.

Normalerweise fotografiert mich meine Tochter, aber sie hat ihr erfolgreich bestandenes Abitur mit ihren Freundinnen und Freunden an der Adria gefeiert. Das hatte sie sich auch mehr als verdient! Mein Vater ist eingesprungen und hat diese Aufnahmen im herrlichen Garten meiner Eltern gemacht.

P.S. Mein Nagellack war ein gold schimmerndes beige, nur durch die Sonne sieht er so grün aus ;-)

WHITE ON WHITE SUMMER LOOK

White-on-White Summer Weekend Look

It is time for my "White on White" interpretation. We are lacking a real summer in Germany this year and whenever we have a bit of a sunny and warm day, I use the opportunity for light colours.

I recently ordered this embroidered cotton tunic in the only remaining size 8 (US) but it felt almost like a 12! With all the online shopping nowadays I get a bit frustrated about the nonconformity of sizes. Well, my seamstress did her magic again...

Today's jewellery is very special as it is designed and handmade in Germany. A family business run by the creative head Anika and her team. Legerer Sommerlook für's Wochenende in Weiß

Weiß - für mich bedeutet das Sommer und Hitze. Von beidem hatten wir bislang ja leider so gut wie nichts. Ich nutze aber jede Gelegenheit, mich sommerlich zu kleiden und dazu gehört auf jeden Fall "Weiß auf Weiß".

Diese leichte, bestickte Baumwolltunika hatte ich in der letzten verfügbaren Größe 36 bestellt und schon befürchtet, sie wäre zu eng. Weit gefehlt, sie fiel wie 40 aus und meine Schneiderin (die übrigens tatsächlich Frau Schneider heißt...) hatte wieder einen Auftrag mehr! Ich wäre echt froh, wenn es diese gravierenden Größenunterschiede nicht gäbe und man sich gerade beim Onlineshopping auf Größenangaben mehr verlassen könnte.

Heute trage ich Schmuck der Firma amika Schmuck - Steine für die Seele. Das besondere daran ist, dass die Teile hier in Deutschland designed und gefertigt wurden. POLKA DOTS AND WRAP DRESS

Wrap Dress And Polka Dots

As many of you know, dresses are my favourite piece of garment. They are so effortless chic and easy to wear. This dress combines my favourite wrap dress style with a silky stretch material and I just love its extra feminine touch.
For me shapewear is a must with this type of dresses and it makes me feel more comfortable.

In order to avoid a too ladylike appearance I've added a silver statement necklace and sandals for a more trendy look.

Wickelkleid und Polka Dots

Wie viele Leserinnen wissen, sind Kleider meine Lieblingskleidungsstücke - einfach reinschlüpfen und man ist perfekt gekleidet! Am liebsten mag ich Wickelkleider und bei diesem hier gibt das glänzende Stretchmaterial, das sich an Körper und Kurven anpasst, den extra Touch Weiblichkeit.
Ich trage unter solchen figurbetonten Kleidern immer Shapewear, damit fühle ich mich wohler.

Damit der Look nicht zu damenhaft, sondern frischer aussieht, habe ich das Kleid mit einer silbernen Statement Kette und Sandalen kombiniert.

CASUAL WHITE AND NEON SUMMER LOOK

White & Neon Summer Look

Finally we had some sunshine - even though the temperatures weren't high up yet.

The right weather for light, white trousers (not see-through which is always an issue with white trousers) which I paired with a bright neon top from my daughter's closet. Those who follow my blog for a while, know that we share mostly accessories but also shirts, blouses and blazers. Neon and silver jewellery and flats complete a casual summer look.

Endlich Sonne, die Temperaturen dürfen allerdings schon noch deutlich steigen, wir hatten morgens Temperaturen im einstelligen Bereich...

Das richtige Wetter für eine weiße, leichte Hose (blickdicht, denn das ist ja bei weiß immer wichtig!) und ein ärmelloses Shirt. Ich habe dieses neonfarbene Top von meiner Tochter ausgeliehen, manche Leserinnen wissen ja schon, dass wir sehr viele Accessoires wie Schmuck und Taschen, aber auch Shirts oder Blazer austauschen. Dazu kamen Silber und noch mehr Neon für einen legeren, sommerlichen Look.
